Insid­ers and the Depart­ment of Com­put­er Sci­ence at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Koblenz have announced a close col­lab­o­ra­tion. The aim is to estab­lish the new Insid­ers loca­tion in Koblenz, to pro­mote tal­ent in the field of arti­fi­cial intel­li­gence (AI) and to strength­en the joint exchange between sci­ence and prac­tice.

Insid­ers is set­ting an impor­tant mile­stone with the open­ing of the loca­tion in Koblenz. “Koblenz is an attrac­tive loca­tion for inno­va­tion and tech­nol­o­gy, where we find an excel­lent aca­d­e­m­ic envi­ron­ment and high­ly qual­i­fied young tal­ent. Togeth­er with the Uni­ver­si­ty of Koblenz, we want to play an active role in shap­ing the future of AI,” empha­sizes Wern­er Weiss, Man­ag­ing Direc­tor of Insid­ers Tech­nolo­gies.

Promoting talent and joint projects

A cen­tral com­po­nent of the coop­er­a­tion is the tar­get­ed pro­mo­tion of tal­ent. Insid­ers offers stu­dents at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Koblenz prac­ti­cal insights into the world of AI and cog­ni­tive process automa­tion. This includes work­ing stu­dent activ­i­ties and the super­vi­sion of final the­ses.

In addi­tion, joint research projects are planned that focus on top­ics such as deep learn­ing, nat­ur­al lan­guage pro­cess­ing and intel­li­gent data pro­cess­ing. These projects should not only fur­ther strength­en Insid­ers’ inno­v­a­tive pow­er, but also pro­vide sci­en­tif­ic impe­tus for the mar­ket.

AI Jam and other events as a platform for exchange

Anoth­er high­light of the col­lab­o­ra­tion are work­shops such as the recent “AI Jam”, an inter­dis­ci­pli­nary event at which stu­dents, researchers and Insid­ers employ­ees devel­op inno­v­a­tive solu­tions to real-world chal­lenges. The work­shops are intend­ed to serve as a cre­ative space to test new ideas and bridge the gap between aca­d­e­m­ic the­o­ry and indus­tri­al prac­tice.

In addi­tion to the AI Jam, reg­u­lar meet-ups, work­shops and guest lec­tures will be held to pro­mote the exchange of knowl­edge between the uni­ver­si­ty and com­pa­nies and fur­ther strength­en Koblenz’s attrac­tive­ness as an AI loca­tion.

Long-term prospects for the AI location Koblenz

The coop­er­a­tion under­lines the joint vision of Insid­ers Tech­nolo­gies and the Uni­ver­si­ty of Koblenz to posi­tion the city of Koblenz as a lead­ing loca­tion for arti­fi­cial intel­li­gence and inno­va­tion. “The coop­er­a­tion with Insid­ers fits very well with the pro­file devel­op­ment of the Depart­ment of Com­put­er Sci­ence in terms of data intel­li­gence and also with the recent strength­en­ing of the work­ing groups in the con­text of arti­fi­cial intelligence,” explains Prof. Dr. Ralf Lämmel, Dean of Depart­ment 4: Com­put­er Sci­ence and Head of the Soft­ware Lan­guages Research Group at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Koblenz.

Ralph Brubach — Head of the new Insid­ers site in Koblenz — is look­ing for­ward to the future col­lab­o­ra­tion. “Koblenz is a promis­ing loca­tion with great AI poten­tial. The close inte­gra­tion of sci­ence and busi­ness prac­tice is not only a hall­mark of Insid­ers Tech­nolo­gies, but will also bring Koblenz itself for­ward with tar­get­ed innovation,” empha­sizes the long-stand­ing IT man­ag­er and pub­lic sec­tor expert.

With this coop­er­a­tion, both part­ners are lay­ing the foun­da­tion for sus­tain­able devel­op­ment in the field of AI — and offer­ing tal­ent­ed indi­vid­u­als the oppor­tu­ni­ty to fur­ther devel­op their skills in a dynam­ic and future-ori­ent­ed envi­ron­ment.
