„Hungry for Automa­tion? Dr. Oetker’s Jour­ney to AI-based Invoice and Order Processing“

Under this title, Mar­cel Foth, IT Spe­cial­ist Con­sult­ing at Dr. August Oetk­er Nahrungsmit­tel KG, and Dr. Armin Stahl, Prod­uct Man­ag­er at Insid­ers Tech­nolo­gies GmbH, demon­strate how arti­fi­cial intel­li­gence can be used to auto­mate the entire incom­ing invoice and order­ing process.

Since 2007, Dr. Oetk­er has been using the Insid­ers solu­tion smart INVOICE, the stan­dard prod­uct for the auto­mat­ed pro­cess­ing of all incom­ing invoic­es in the SAP® or ERP sys­tem. Used for unsort­ed, arbi­trar­i­ly mixed invoic­es and cred­its notes, it analy­ses approx. 480,000 pages per year. For three years, the food com­pa­ny has also been using the Insid­ers solu­tion smart ORDER, the stan­dard prod­uct for auto­mat­ed order pro­cess­ing for all incom­ing, arbi­trar­i­ly mixed orders. With the intro­duc­tion of the two solu­tions, Dr. Oetk­er ben­e­fits from high-per­for­mance prod­ucts that already pro­vide all the cru­cial out-of-the-box func­tion­al­i­ty and can be used inter­na­tion­al­ly.

Back in March, Insid­ers Tech­nolo­gies was able to con­tribute, togeth­er with their cus­tomer BASF, to the con­fer­ence pro­gram of the SSON AP Automa­tion Dig­i­tal Sum­mit 2021. The pre­sen­ta­tion, titled “Tanker meets Speed­boat – BASF’s Nov­el Path to AP Automa­tion”, showed how Insid­ers Tech­nolo­gies intro­duced a cloud-based appli­ca­tion for auto­mat­ed data extrac­tion into BASF’s glob­al SSC net­work in just 16 months, cov­er­ing a vol­ume of 3.4 mil­lion invoic­es per year and accounts payable process­es in more than 80 coun­tries.
